The Opportunity
Student Affairs Deanship is looking for an incumbent for the position of Sports and Recreation Coach to positively reinforce student retention and engagement in campus life, this position will focus on the enrichment of student life which includes the development of an activity and sports program complete with special events (, Sports Day, etc.), intercollegiate sports teams, and an intramural program.
The Responsibilities:
Program development and coordination; Event management; Community Service
- Plan and organize sports events and activities for students by assessing student interest and selecting and overseeing students involved in campus programming including community and International service learning. Training students: football, basketball etc.
- Everyday Gym activity - training and monitoring.
- To positively reinforce student retention and engagement in campus life.
- Develop a recreational and intramural sports program that provides informal opportunities for self -directed fitness and sport, structured events, tournaments, meets and leagues, sports clubs, special sport and recreation events, outdoor programs and events, and fitness and training programs.
- Create and coach intercollegiate sports teams for a range of sports. Initiate and maintain all necessary UAE ministry registrations for sports competitions;
- Oversee inventories and equipment repairs;
- Create and oversee safety procedures for all events and activities;
- Helping the Student Affairs department during our activities and events.
- Overseeing of the male program in the evening related to any student issues, emergencies, medicals etc. and reporting such incidents to the SA department for further investigation and action to be taken
The Requirements: Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a accredited institution in Physical Education or an equivalent qualification and a minimum of 2 Years of experience in the area of student recreation and student life enrichment initiatives or an equivalent combination of education, skill or experience. Must possess intramural recreation and sports experience as well as strong student activities programming leadership experience at the university level.
